Juvéderm™
Juvéderm™ is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin,  that helps to add volume and hydration. Juvéderm™ is eased under the skin using a fine needle to augment, or fill, the soft tissue of the dermis, the dense inner layer of skin beneath the epidermis, to add volume and diminish wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel is used most effectively for those wrinkles and folds in the lower third of your face, like your laugh lines, smile lines or the lines on the sides of your nose and mouth, known as the nasolabial folds.  Juvéderm™, like Restylane,  is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. Hyaluronic acid may diminish with age, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to smooth wrinkles and folds.

Juvéderm™ dermal filler, a ‘next generation’ hyaluronic acid dermal filler approved by the FDA in June 2006, contains the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any dermal filler currently available. These attributes provide optimal results with a single treatment of Juvéderm™ in the majority of patients and deliver sustained results for up to six months or longer.

New Study Results : At 24 weeks, 96 percent of nasolabial folds treated withJuvéderm™ had maintained clinically significant correction, and 81 percent maintained the correction for 1 year or more. Results were similar for those subjects with follow-up through 48 weeks after repeated treatment. The median volume required for repeated treatment with Juvéderm™ was significantly less than that for initial treatment (0.7 ml versus 1.6 ml).
