Dr. Robert P. Hillstrom is a recognized expert in the field of facial plastic surgery and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America every year since 1995. He has authored numerous articles relating to aesthetic facial surgery and a textbook chapter on Reconstructive Nasal Surgery. He is a very caring and committed physician who has served as part of numerous hospital, professional and civic organizations since settling in Florida in 1990. Born in suburban Chicago, Dr. Hillstrom is a 1980 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and he received his medical degree from the Loyola University of Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine in 1984. |

He completed his internship and residency training in Head and Neck Surgery at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University, which was followed by fellowship training in Facial Plastic Surgery with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hillstrom is Board Certified in both Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to his certification and training, Dr. Hillstrom has served as president of the Florida Society of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (1998 - 1999), Chief of Staff of Blake Medical Center (1999 - 2001) in Bradenton and most recently, Chief of Staff of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (2004 - 2005) in Sarasota, Florida. In 1991, he was presented with the John Orlando Roe Award by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for the most outstanding scholarly paper in the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Andrew E. Burchard joins Hillstrom Facial Plastic Surgery after completing his training as a Facial Plastic Surgeon. He has published several articles in the fields of Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery and has written several book chapters on topics such as Injectable Facial Fillers, the Treatment of Keloid Scars, and Skin Grafting Techniques. Dr. Burchard grew up south of Boston and received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. He then attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia where he received his medical degree. |

Dr. Burchard is Board Certified in Head & Neck Surgery and is Board Eligible in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Burchard is married and lives in Sarasota. He and his wife recently had their first child, Aidan and are thoroughly enjoying spending time with him. |
