Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Restylane is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHAT (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid). NASHAT is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
When injected, Restylane remains soft and pliable and takes on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue. Results appear immediately and last approximately five to six months. Facial filler treatments take a half an hour or less to complete, with almost no recovery time. Some minor discomfort may be experienced, such as a slight throbbing or stinging sensation at the injection site that usually disappears in a few days. Some patients may experience minor bruising, redness, or swelling. We will make your visit as comfortable as possible and frequently use nerve blocks in order to minimize any discomfort.
